These guys are having too much fun cooking the Christmas Party meal!!

A group of men from the church took some of the 20something guys to do some local mission work this Saturday.

I’m going to try to put a testimony from everyone that went on the mission trip to NYC.  There is also a video in the works, so come back soon!

Today’s testimonies are from Lindsay Harsh and Julie Waters:

Lindsay Harsh:

Each mission trip I try to bring something back home with me to help me grow in my Christian walk. This time I brought a quote that I would like to share. Pastor Stella was talking and she said “when you want to ask God WHY did something happen or WHY anything, we should turn that WHY into a WHAT and ask ourselves WHAT does God want us to do with the situtation so that HE gets the glory.”. I love that, turn your WHY into a WHAT! God is so good and this mission trip was awesome!

Julie Waters:

Each mission trip it seems i always bring back something different and it’s never what i expect it to be, but it is helping me to grow. It’s 5 words. “Everything you need is me” The lord spoke these words to me the last night at the Time Square church youth service. Throughout the week and weeks prior i had experienced just feeling discontent and discouraged for no reason really and i didn’t understand why. God used this trip to remind me that all i need is him, all i’ll EVER need is him. We had such a good time on the trip and their is so much i brought back with me that can’t be put into words. I thank God he uses each trip to help me grow in different ways.

I hope to update the website daily with a recap of the day’s events and a couple of pictures.  I have also added the NYC Mission Team’s Twitter account to the website.  Look on the top right corner of the valleyforgeyouth.com website and you’ll see the latest tweets from the mission team.  They will be updating this frequently on their trip, so check back often to see what’s going on with our mission team in NYC!!

You don’t have to sign up for Twitter to see their updates, but if you do sign up and you want to follow them on Twitter, here is their Twitter page.
