Don’t forget to check out the ‘Tweets’ on the top right corner of our page!!  I hope to get some more details soon from some of our mission team.  Please keep them in your prayers.  Tonight they’ll be doing street witnessing and feeding the needy in Manhattan.  Tomorrow morning they will be at the Coney Island soup kitchen in Brooklyn.

I hope to update the website daily with a recap of the day’s events and a couple of pictures.  I have also added the NYC Mission Team’s Twitter account to the website.  Look on the top right corner of the valleyforgeyouth.com website and you’ll see the latest tweets from the mission team.  They will be updating this frequently on their trip, so check back often to see what’s going on with our mission team in NYC!!

You don’t have to sign up for Twitter to see their updates, but if you do sign up and you want to follow them on Twitter, here is their Twitter page.

20something-mission-team-schedule

The 20something NYC Mission Team had a quick lesson and some team building exercises tonight before going upstairs where the entire congregation gathered around to pray for them.  They are leaving this Sunday morning at 3:30am to drive to New York City.  Please remember them in your prayers during their trip.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Matthew 5:14

The NYC Mission Team practiced witnessing by acting out different scenarios they may encounter on their trip.

This weekend the 20 something mission team had a fundraiser/prep session for their upcoming New York City mission trip in May.  They started the day cleaning out a barn for a church member.  Later, they worked at the parsonage, removing concrete and repairing the porch to prepare the house for rental to visiting missionaries.  The team has several other fundraisers and prep sessions planned between now and their mission trip to the ‘Big Apple’.

20 Something Bean Supper

The 20 Something class had a bean supper to raise funds for their upcoming mission trip to New York City.  Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting them in their efforts.  The bean supper raised $1,900 for their mission trip.
